Lily Bloom couldn’t be more excited for Christmas Eve when she will say “I do” to the man she loves. She just has the library opening to get through and then all the town’s focus will be on her.

But things start going wrong almost from the very first moment she’s getting setup for the library’s event. Not only is there plenty of disagreement among those helping, but one of the co-chairs who is in charge of the whole event winds up dead the day before the ceremony.

With everyone who was helping setup under a microscope, Lily is in a race against time to be able to get married. When one of her best friends winds up in jail for the murder Lily knows she didn’t commit, the pressure’s on to find the real murderer.

Will Lily be able to prove her friend’s innocence? Or will she find herself in even more trouble and face a wedding in a jail cell or the hospital? Or worse—will there be no wedding at all because the bride is the new target?

A holiday recipe also included!

***Christmas Tree Catastrophe is approx. 35K words and is volume 6 in the Lily Bloom Cozy Mystery Series. Lyndsey’s books can be read and enjoyed in any order.

Christmas Tree Catastrophe Lily Bloom Cozy Mystery Series Book 6 edition by Lyndsey Cole Mystery Thriller Suspense eBooks

Maybe 2.5 stars? Mostly for editing errors. There were so many instances where Cole uses there instead of their (loc 1086, 1561) and you're instead of your (loc 1126, 1175, 1837) that it was distracting.

Not having read others in this series, I was a bit lost character-progression-wise, but obviously librarian Lily Bloom is in an established relationship with her fiance, "detective serious" (loc 211), and she's prone to finding herself in the wrong place at the wrong time. When she discovers a body under a tree in front of her library after a function, she calls in the police before it gets too buried in snow. And when her friend ends up in jail for the murder, she tries to dig through any clues she can to exonerate her and find the real killer...and hopefully stay out of jail herself, at least until her wedding is over.

Overall, this felt a little rushed and almost too easy for Lily (well, it should have been an open and shut case, but evidently it appears even Lily hasn't read books 1-5 in the series). However, I downloaded it with a bunch of other holiday-related stories, so really that's what I wanted: a few hours in the Christmas spirit.

Christmas Tree Catastrophe Lily Bloom Cozy Mystery Series Book 6 edition by Lyndsey Cole Mystery Thriller Suspense eBooks Reviews

The cover did not impress me - gave the impression of a light, not much substance mystery but I found the book surprisingly good. The plot was interesting and the characters and dialogue realistic. It kept me guessing till the very end and I found very few grammar or editing errors (A real plus for me!) I will definitely be reading more books by Lyndsey Cole!
Cozy up by the fire and enjoy this delightful mystery. While not as cerebral as Sherlock Holmes, it nonetheless presents an array of small town characters as charming as they are quirky. I guess the best way to put it is You are invited to a wedding ... and a murder.
This was a fun, quick read for Christmas. A thoroughly despicable person was murdered and an innocent person was accused of the murder. Lily Bloom must find the true killer before her friend goes to trial and spoils Lily's wedding on Christmas Eve. It was an entertaining story, but seemed to lack real suspense. I would recommend this for anyone that enjoys cozy mysteries.
I wish these stories were a bit longer. Just as you get into these characters and their relationships, the murder is solved and it's over. I like the setting and people in this small town. Hopefully, the next books in this series will gave more depth or pages at least. Lily is a strong character and deserves her wedding day, even if she is trying to solve a murder right up to the last minute. Her policeman/fiancé is trying to keep her safe and alive so he can marry her. It's a race to the altar.
Lily Bloom is working hard to keep everything on task. She is helping with the opening of the new town library, planning her wedding and fulfilling Christmas orders in her flower shop. The last thing she needed was to find a murdered man under a Christmas tree. With the help of her friends, Mom, fiancé and dog Lily will be getting married, but not before she finds the murderer. Lily is an exceptionally like able character with a heart of gold. This is a great series and I have enjoyed reading about Lily's adventures, friendships and courtship.
Unlimited, lot of stuff going on in these stories, although most never makes sense and some just hurts, as in cardboard characters and situations.

Latest in the Lily Bloom Series. I found it enjoyable like all the rest. These are a light series and they are fairly quick reads. The mysteries are fair and the author tells a good story. Sometime the science behind the mystery is a bit thin but I find that if you enjoy this genre you already know that. They are light escapist fiction.

These are clean reads. I have recommended to a number of friends and all have agreed. Good story line and fair mystery with no objectionable language.
